About Us

The British Columbia Council for International Education (BCCIE) was established in 1990 as a non-profit society responsible for strengthening international education within the British Columbia (BC) public post-secondary system. It now represents the entire international education sector in British Columbia by providing a cohesive and professional source of information for students, parents and educators, and coordinating and delivering effective marketing strategies and advertising initiatives. Through the creation of a supportive network of cooperation and collaboration amongst international practitioners, BCCIE has helped to create and maintain a strong, vibrant international education system.

BCCIE offers quality professional development events annually for international education practitioners, networking events and forums, sector-wide advocacy, and system-wide advertising and marketing opportunities. BCCIE works closely with the provincial government to ensure that the international education sector thrives as a value proposition for the sector itself as well as for both domestic and international students. Event planning and research activities mesh well with its traditional and ongoing support for the marketing and internationalization of the sector.
