Announcement of Education Tenders from Oman and Qatar

Government of Qatar – Tender for a new framework for Qatar’s K-12 curricula
 
On June 16, 2015, during a visit to Qatar, the Minister of Advanced Education of Newfoundland and Labrador, the Hon. Clyde Jackman, met with Qatar’s Minister of Education and Higher Education, HE Dr. Mohamed Ben Abdel Wahed El Hamadi.
 
During the meeting, the Qatari Minister noted that his government is embarking on a reform of the general framework of its K-12 curriculum and has released an international tender for this purpose. The Qatari Minister invited participation from Canadian educational consultants, institutions, PTs and experts in the tender opportunity. Following this meeting, the Government of Qatar has invited participation from Canadian businesses in this tender opportunity, as noted in the attached communication (APPENDIX I).
 
Note: While the stated deadline for responses has passed, the Government of B.C. has been advised that the Qatari Government will be flexible with the dates of the tender.

Government of Oman – Tender for Teacher Training The Government of Oman has issued a tender for teacher training in two areas: professional training for teachers of math and science (Grades 1-4) and professional training of English teachers (ESL – English as a Second Language) for all grades.
 
Expressions of interest are invited from Canadian contracting companies and from Canadian universities, especially those that have experience in the MENA region, to bid on this tender.
 
The estimated schedule of the tender is end of July / beginning of August 2015, with the awarding of the contract expected to take place in early– to mid-October 2015.
