Premier’s Mission to China and India: Education Delegation
Introduction to Mission
Premier Christy Clark will be leading a senior delegation to China and India in November 2011 to promote British Columbia. Education will play a key role in the mission, and senior representatives from BC’s public universities and colleges are invited to take part in a series of events in both countries.
BCCIE has been asked to advise and support the Ministry of Advanced Education in its planning and implementation of the education portion of the Premier’s mission. The Ministry will continue to ‘hold the pen’ in terms of the program and agenda, but BCCIE will be involved in delivering to you staged communications and in the implementation of certain events in the field.
Please be advised that education is one of several delegations participating on the mission, others including senior cabinet ministers, forestry, seafood, mining and at least one community delegation. Delegations will intersect with the Premier’s delegation for different events. There may not be a formal education event in every city, and in some cities there will be only one event where the Premier might be in attendance. You are advised to create your own institutional program to derive full benefit from this mission.
Updates to events and itineraries will be posted in this Premier’s Mission section. For questions about the education portion of the mission, please contact the appropriate BCCIE staff member below:
