The conference theme Global Pursuits, Local Endeavours recognizes the holistic nature of the field of international education, both in terms of the hard work being done to promote internationalization and global competencies at home, but also the pursuit of excellence at the local level in delivering services, education, and support to the hundreds of thousands of international students who call our country home.

The BCCIE Summer Seminar 2012 was held at the outstanding Delta Grand Okanagan Resort & Conference Centre along the shores of Lake Okanagan in Kelowna’s bustling Cultural District. The opening reception was held at the historic Laurel Packinghouse, a designated national heritage landmark. The 2012 Seminar program included over 24 concurrent sessions, streams for leaders and newcomers, the return of the National Forum, and many opportunities for networking with international education leaders from around Canada.
