The BC Council for International Education (BCCIE) is pleased to announce a call for session proposals for the BCCIE Summer Seminar 2012. This year’s conference theme is Global Pursuits, Local Endeavours.

As international educators, we must ask ourselves:

• How do we integrate the international dimensions of our work with the overall strategic priorities of our districts and institutions? 
• How do we ensure that the benefits of international education are shared by all student communities? 
• What strategies can we put in place to build support in our cities and communities for the pursuit of internationalization?
• What models of collaboration exist for using local networks and partnerships to be more strategic in our internationalization efforts?

While we encourage proposals from across the field of the international education, we are particularly interested in sessions that address the connection between international activity and strong local engagement.

Session proposals will be accepted until end of day March 31, 2012.  Interested session chairs should complete the Session Proposal Form in full and provide as much detail as possible. The full list of concurrent sessions will be announced in March 2012.  Please note that session chairs and session speakers are responsible for their own transportation, accommodation, and conference registration costs.

To return the completed sponsorship application form:

1. In the form window, click on the "Submit" button in the top right-hand corner. You will be prompted for your email address and full name, fill it in and click send.
2. Please select "Desktop Email Application" as the method to send your mail if you are currently using an email application such as Microsoft Outlook. You may check your email application to see if the mail was sent successfully.
3. If you are unsure about your email application, select "Internet Email" instead to save a copy of the form and email it to seminar@bccie.bc.ca.
