The Embassy of Canada in Jakarta would like to invite your institution to participate in education fairs for secondary schools, colleges, and universities in Surabaya and Jakarta. Dates and locations as follows:

Jakarta: Saturday-Sunday April 3rd-4th, 2010, Shangri-La Hotel

Indonesia is a strong market for undergraduate programs, and is demonstrating a growing interest for secondary schools.  With more and more international schools opening branches in major Indonesian cities, the number of students looking to further their studies abroad is increasing, and Canada remains a destination of choice. Further, with the Indonesian economy expected to continue to grow at least 4-5% per year, and the middle class rapidly expanding, the number of students seeking to study overseas is projected to continue to expand steadily in the next five years. Institutions therefore need to build their profile and reputation in this market now.

For Indonesian parents and students, as with families throughout Asia, education is a very high priority.  The decision on which country and institution to choose is often a family affair. Education fairs give institutions an opportunity to connect with both students and parents directly, and to provide them with the detailed information they need to make these important decisions.

Registration fees are $1,300 for the one day fair in Surabaya and $2,500 for the two day fair in Jakarta. Fees include booth costs, fair promotion, and buffet lunch each day of the event. Optional costs are $150/day for an interpreter/fair assistant, and $200 for a half page or $400 for full page advertisement in fair program (black and white).

Further to the Brand Use Eligibility Policy jointly established by Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada (DFAIT) and the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada (CMEC), secondary and post-secondary education institutions are invited to consult the provincial lists of eligible institutions on the « Imagine Education au/in Canada, Brand Use Guidelines » site at http://www.imagine.cmec.ca/en/zone/ to confirm their eligibility to participate in promotion events.

Please see the program(FR) and registration form(FR). The deadline for registration is March 8th, 2010, with a payment deadline of March 15th, 2010. Registration forms should be sent to our service provider, CEI Indonesia / Ms. Treshia Gunardi, at: treshia.gunardi@canada-edu.org

We hope that your institution will be able to participate in this event. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Julia Pangkey in my office at julia.pangkey@international.gc.ca
