During NAFSA 2009 in Los Angeles, BCCIE was approached and asked to assist in facilitating a team of BC stakeholders to plan a BC Reception for NAFSA 2011 in Vancouver. The intent of the reception is to allow institutions to collaborate and pool their resources in an effort to host one primary BC Reception that will showcase the province as a whole.
To date a small working committee has come together for preliminary discussions to host a BC Reception on Sunday, May 29, 2011, in conjunction with NAFSA Vancouver. The team has met twice and developed a skeleton frame work for the reception. At this time, we would like to open the invitation to all BC stakeholders to join the working committee. Ideally, the target is to comprise a team of 5-6 individuals, who would represent each of the various sectors and regions of the Province.

BCCIE’s role is to assist in facilitating and providing support to the committee. If you are interested in joining the working committee please email Sarah Mines at smines@bccie.bc.ca no later than August 15, 2010.
Closer to the event itself we will be looking for a number of people to come forward as volunteers and a missive will be sent out asking for your support.
